Mexico City, November 26, 2002.- Smartmatic, the device-networking solutions provider, and Cestek Dimeyco Sistemas, a provider of technology services, formalized in this city a joint venture for providing services to Santander-Serfin Bank.

The agreement between both companies contemplates the training of Cestek's human resources by Smartmatic. The training will focus on the deployment, support and maintenance of the SmartBank security solution, developed over the device-networking Smarmatic Platform:

After evaluating offers from various companies, like Siemens-Nixdorf, Lenel and Andover Control, Santander-Serfin acquired SmartBank. During the first stage, the unified security solution will be installed in 90 bank offices, starting with its AVTM security and video-surveillance module.

"SmartBank joins in one solution the advanced management of alarm and video-surveillance systems, taking advantage of the bank existing security, network and systems infrastructure. Cestek already provides services to Santander-Serfin and knows the technology, because it has been its supplier for many years ", says Edgar Zorrilla, VP of Sales of Smartmatic.

Gerardo Chagoyan, general director of Cestek signed the agreement. He states: "This is the beginning of a long and fruitful business relation, for gradually automate all of the 1,004 branch-offices of one of the three most important banks in Mexico".
